How this page works

Each entry is a one- to two-sentence summary in our own words with a direct link to the original article on the publishing outlet's domain. We do not republish, summarise with AI, or paywall-bypass. The intent is orientation, not displacement of the original journalism.

Tiers, top right of each card: Primary source for WHO, CDC, Africa CDC, and Ministry of Health output; Newsroom for established outlets like Reuters, AP, STAT, the BBC, Le Monde, Al Jazeera; Analysis for university, think-tank, or peer-reviewed comment.

Ebola outbreak in DR Congo collides with conflict and hunger, WHO warns

Tedros warns the outbreak is hitting eastern DRC amid active conflict by ADF, CODECO, and M23 armed groups and severe food insecurity, with roughly 10 million people facing acute hunger in the affected regions and 26.5 million food insecure nationally. He said the agency cannot build community trust or isolate the sick while bombs are falling, and appealed for an immediate ceasefire to enable humanitarian access. Many health facilities are non-functional or operating under severe constraints.
